I picked up this girl last March and she was sold to me as a normal. I bought her at the same time as another normal girl, but when I got her home I really noticed that she looked very different than the other 2 normal Balls that I have. As the pictures below show, she is more brown with lots of blushing. I thought at first she may be a Cinnamon Pastel, but she doesn't have the tell-tale 'keyholes'....she does have the keyhole shapes, just not the dark spots within the shapes. These photos were taken one day after she shed, and she now closely matches the photos. The last photo was taken while she was in-shed, but it shows how she compares to the other normal that I picked up at the same time. So what do you all think? Is she something or just dinker? Either way she's a sweet snake and looks great! ;D

Incredible blusher! I would definitely try to prove the trait. Thats the great thing about this hobby! You never know what genetics are hidden until you make some hets. I have a dinker project I look forward to proving. Ill post some pics. Normals can be varied but some times you get a gut feeling about a special animal. Very nice blushing !

Thanks! ;D She's a sweet snake also...she loves to wrap around your arms more than my other BP's. I do have a special feeling about her and was very lucky to get her for the price of a normal. So she may be my first breeding project!

Very nice looking snake! She looks like a Granite Ball Python. Interesting...thanks for the info! What markings make up a Granite? Is it the lack of normal alien heads along with the speckling within the pattern markings? Also, is the Granite a true morph or just a slight variation on a wild-type normal? Thanks again for the help!

Great questions! where the alien heads would be the pattern is speckled and peppered with little black patches and flecks, It gives the ball python a great look. I think if you breed the Granite with a normal you will produce baby Granites, I think it is a dominant gene.

Thank you all for the help in identifying my 'lil girl! It's nice to know that she's something. ;D
Is a Granite an actual morph gene, or is it just a slight variation of a normal? I ask because I saw on another board that some consider a granite just a pretty normal.

I don't know if it's a actual gene morph but they sell them for more $$$ on kingsnake.
