Unfortunately my project for albinos will not be happening this season due to my male not being ready to breed. So my only project will be lemon pastels.

I had a 550 gram male give a nice clutch ! Everyone has to decide for themselves about breeding young males but it is possible. Do you have a female het or albino to put him with? It is always a risk with a young male especially if he goes off feed. I think if you just pair him with one or two females and keep a eye on him for weight loss he may surprise you. If time is not an issue wait til next season and he will be good to go!

I have alot of long term projects going but i would say my lavender project is a long shot but one of my most exciting projects. I have a male and two females from 07 season that are around 300 grams now and hope to get two more clutches of possible het for lavs. I know this is a long time to try to prove a het but its a challenge to me to produce a lavender from a single possible het for lav male. We also may get some clowns from het to het breeding that were excited about. We should have Pastels , Lots of lessers ,Lessers possible het for clown,Ghost, albinos and some possible double hets. We bred very few females last season due to a move and felt the collection could use a very well deserved break. We are looking forward to this season !

Put him in a tub with another male and watch them, sometimes they will battle which is just a pushing match mostly. After a few hours put him in with a female. Also if you can get a sperm plug out of another male and wipe it on the female it helps. Sounds gross but it works!!!!!!!! I have heard of males breeding at under 300 grams.

yes now that you mention it I did see a video that put a male with another male to get him to breed but haven't herd of the sperm plug trick. I'll give the first one a try first. Thank you
