I had a large female snake escape last night, I found her tub moved out just enough for her to get out. My first thought was straight to the last one that escaped. It took over five hours to find the last one. I turned and just happened to look at the hatching rack and noticed one tub was moved out just a little. When I looked behind the tub their she was I found her in like 10 seconds!!! Now that was some luck

You got lucky ! Metal electrical conduit works great! they ball up and push on the upper shelf and push the tub out! Usually the snake will crawl around and push multiple tubs open and you have multiple escapees! The conduit is really cheap. You just screw a conduit clamp to the top and bottom shelf and cut a piece of conduit to length. You slide it up through the top clamp and insert the bottom through the bottom clamp and let the bottom rest on the floor. the conduit length needs to be from the floor to above the first clamp. Make sure if the back of the rack is open run a 2x2 down the back maybe two ? Same as the conduit but its screwed on and not removeble like the conduit. take care Glad you found her!

I love how great minds work alike! that is exactly what I'm planing to do to the front of the rack. And your right I am so lucky and soooo glad she didn't crawl around and push multiple tubs open. The back has stops installed but the plan there is to put a solid back on to save some heat.

Glad you found her soon. Every escapee I've ever had was usually in an empty cage below there's or behind there tub in a rack. Except for a gopher snake that got out in my moms station wagon on the way to school years ago. It crawled out of one of the front heater vents on a family road trip about 6 months later
