Maxwell, first-time females will sometimes only lay a single egg, and then from there on a clutch will always consist of two eggs unless the gecko is older or sick. The size of the clutch really depends on the age of your gecko.Older females may lay 10-16 eggs per season!

first-time females??? Is the single egg clutch from breeding to young? I know with Ball's if there to young you'll only get small clutches. Do you incubate the eggs? Yeah from what I have read up on the younger they are the less eggs they produce. whats kinda cool about the geckos is that they are temperature sex dependent, meaning i have control of what sex i want them to be. A daytime high that does not exceed 82 F will give you all female offspring, but if you want to make that egg a "male" then you would place the egg where it will experience 90-92 F as a daytime high during the first two weeks of incubation. And as for the incubation i think the following just answered that lol. but yes you do need to incubate. I have read you incubate between 30-90 days. This will be my first time trying to breed leopard geckos so we will see how it works out starting in about Feb or march. first-time females??? Is the single egg clutch from breeding to young? Very interesting! I never had leopard geckos or any geckos but I think I just got hooked ;D I wish Ball Pythons were temperature sex dependent I'd love to make all females sometimes. I wish you great results on your first breeding with lots of eggs. Please keep us posted and take pics for me.
